Relentlessly experimenting with cut and textures, Beekay’s clothes create an intense, dark and energetic effect. From rough use of Leather to Latex-Cindered Denim he pushes his material to produce a hard aggressive impact with his Post-apocalyptic/junk yard signature designs. Beneath their tough exteriors is the exact opposite: designs that provide comfort and a high degree of flexibility in movement.
Born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan the pull of popular culture Led Beekay to push against it. He completed his degree at University for Creative Arts, U.K, while spending three seasons working under London based designer duo, “Aminaka Wilmont”.. These experiences inspired him to develop a fierce curiosity in to how far he could push with Leather, Jersey, Latex prints, cuts and more.
His label launched in Pakistan for the first time with PFDC Sunsilk fashion week in Lahore in April 2011 with Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. His idea is to promote and introduce a new age and dark clothing which is a growing demand in Pakistani’s youth.
After his first two collections, received with critical acclaim at 080 Barcelona, On Off and Vauxhall fashion scout for London Fashion Weeks, Beekay is steadily establishing an identity for himself, by partaking in such events as FTV’s Fashion show, Dublin’s “Off the Rails Live” and Britain’s Next Top Model Live.
The favourable reception of the young designer’s first two body of work gave him the necessary confidence to unleash his creativity and aesthetic zeal and work on his third more personal and conscious collection.
This time, a fresh look at Heavy Metal animations comes to complement his signature use of leather and the ever-present influence of a slightly dark New Age aesthetic. The new designs draw direct inspiration from natural motifs such as the round and twisted contours of tree trunks, the raw textures of tree leaves.
