ZUJ, a Solo Rock Artist from Lahore/Islamabad started his mainstream musical career in 2006 with the song Phook lay, which later in 2007 became part of Zibhakhan as an Official Sound Track of the movie. At this point he had developed a great fan following.
However, in Oct. 2008 he released another video of the same song, just to project his image as a musician and to dismiss the perception of him being a playback singer. He describes his music as the sound of his emotions and as a testament, he then released a mellow number – Bayrukhi, which shows his versatility in music. But wait! There is more to him, as Bayrukhi was picked by an Indian movie and is now the Official Sound Track of an upcoming Bollywood movie,
#7 Welcome To London.
There is another song of ZUJ is coming in the same movie and the song name is Hum Adhoray, which never got out of the studio and was taken by the Producer on demand for his movie.
Zuj believes in bringing new sound on the airwaves every time and that’s what encouraged him to come out with his recent track, which is a Punk Rock songand has very bold lyrics. He tempered with traditional norms of music video making and directed a very daring video for his song BABU RAO as the lyrics and video don’t relate to eachother.
The concept of this music video cited from Zuj’s website states:
“This video is about stretching our imaginations to the next level. Envisioning the time of Armageddon and speculating that immorality and greed is going to become the only principle of human kind. Babu Rao is about the last man and woman left on planet earth.
This video depicts the pinnacle of immorality fulfilling apocalyptic prophecies from the sages of all times. Adam and Eve started the human race but the last man and woman standing would not serve as the revivers of human race.
Babu Rao is a discreet concept explained by using contemporary lyrics and choosing punk genre, which makes it even more interesting”.
His diverse taste of music has left his fans asking for more; surely their appetite for music will be satisfied after they hear the whole album, which he is working on these days, the wait will definitely be worth it!
