With the commencement of the first batch of classes at International Fashion Academy Pakistan [IFAP] earlier this year, model, entrepreneur and L’Oréal Paris Pakistan Spokesperson Mehreen Syed along with her team announce the first graduating class at IFAP.
Graduating students are from the Grooming, Modeling and Make-Up academies respectively where classes took place each day of the week, over a span of four to eight weeks. Each course covered a series of subjects including but not limited to: Styling & Personal Grooming, Professional Hair & Make-up techniques, Cultural Refinement, Table Manners, Health & Physical Fitness and Health & Physical Fitness to create a new generation of trained professionals who can lead Pakistan’s fashion industry nationally and within the global arena. Each class also focused significantly on practical training.
To this end, IFAP students part of the Modeling and Grooming academies were selected to participate in the recently concluded Colombo Fashion Week 2012, Sky Fashion Showcase 2012 in Karachi, Leisure Club’s 15th anniversary celebration Circus event in Lahore and Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 in Karachi. These students will now also be taking part in the Fashion Week in Lahore in April 2012 as held by the prestigious Pakistan Fashion Design Council [PFDC]. With L’Oréal Paris as the exclusive Make-Up partners for IFAP, students from the Make-up academy have also worked as assistant make-up artists for an upcoming feature film, Chambeli.
A private training institute, IFAP’s first batch of students within the Grooming Academy, the Make-Up Academy and The Modeling Academy were taught by instructors including; Shahzad Raza as the Head of Faculty and Hassan Sheheryar Yasin [HSY] as the Head of Visiting Faculty, Nickie Nina, Saba Ansari of Sabs, Iffat Rahim Omer, Hamza Tarar, Nael Ahmad, Emaad Irfani, Shammal Qureshi, Redah Misbah, Asmaa Mumtaz, Ali Xeeshan, Cybil, Ayesha Fazli, Seher Huma Butt, Isma Majeed, Nadia Malik, Dr. Haroon Nabi, Dr. Azmat, Dr. Saqib Mehmood, Sobia Mustapha and Uzma Baig.
A multi-dimensional academy and indeed among the first dedicated Fashion Academies in Pakistan, IFAP’s mission is to establish a platform that allows the next generation of fashion industry professionals, specifically models, makeup artists and photographers with an emphasis on personal care and grooming, to study their field in a professional environment, equipping aspiring specialists with the technical know-how and exposure enabling such students to be able to pursue such studies as a viable career.
Speaking about the commencement of classes at IFAP, CEO & member of the Board of Directors at IFAP, and L’Oréal Paris Pakistan Spokesperson Mehreen Syed has said, “IFAP is designed to fulfill a particular need, and that is to create professionals for the fashion industry as well as to give prospective models, stylists and photographers the chance to engage themselves productively and sustainably. We have a strong curriculum and we great trainers. The response has so far been great. Students from our first batch, while training, have already participating in some of the leading fashion ventures this country has to offer and with a global beauty brand of the stature of L’Oréal Paris supporting us, we are definitely very encouraged and believe with our first batch, we have taken a step in the right direction.”
Upon successful completion of a course at IFAP, students will now be receiving formal diplomas/certificates and an opportunity to work closely with their instructors starting with a Graduating Ceremony in May 2012.
