The mellifluous singer Sanam Marvi, who got recognition for singing Sufi songs on “Coke Studio” is endeavoring to revive love for Sufi music in both India and Pakistan and also across the globe.
Sanam Marvi has an extensive flair for Sufi-qawwal music that she depicts with her in-depth voice, taking listeners on a spell bounding journey to Sufism. Being a trained Sufi singer under the legendary Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, she looks at herself as a zealot for bringing back Sufi tradition with her Sufism inspired songs.
Sanam Marvi, after capturing Sufi music loving souls in Pakistan, has also rendered her vocals in Bollywood films such as London Paris New York and The Dirty Picture. She has also joined the Sufi festivals in France and Morocco and now plans to do a Sufi Musical Tour to United States.
Sanam Marvi made her debut with the popular classical music show “Virsa Heritage Revived” and now longs to promote Sufi traditions worldwide.
“I think the most important thing is spreading the Sufi kalam that is my focus – spreading the kalam to all corners of the world wherever my voice leads me”, said Sanam Marvi telling about her father Faqeer Ghulam Rasool, who was also a Sufi singer.
