5 Simple Yoga Poses for Asthma Relief

Asthma may cause a lot of troubles for individuals but it can be treated and kept under control with certain lifestyle changes in the patient’s life. Yoga can help asthma patients a lot but a certain kind of yoga. Some poses help asthma patients recover and keep their attacks under control.

Here are five very simple poses asthma patients can try to relieve themselves of their asthma.

 

 

1. Savasana

This is a relaxing pose focused on helping the breathing rate of the patient suffering from asthma. The patient lies down on their back with their arms wide apart and their hands wide open; almost in a thrown manner. The eyes are kept closed and the patient breathes in an out on a normal and slow pace.

2. Sakusana

This is the most commonly known yoga posture and it strangely relaxing. The main focus on this pose is to maintain and balance the breathing rate and the stress in the patient’s life. It helps the lungs of the patient to function properly. The patient just sits with crossed legs and the right hand on their heart. With the left hand on their belly they keep their eyes closed and in good posture, breathe for five odd minutes.

3. Butterfly

This is carried out as the patient sits up front with their back straight, their legs extended and spread out. The knees are bent and sole of the feet is made to touch each other. The breathing is exaggerated as the lags are flapped like the wings of a butterfly.

4. Bridge

For this the patient lies on their back with their knees folded in a straight line with the ankles. The patient inhales slowly holding their posture for a minute or two allowing their body to breathe itself.

5. Straddled splits

As the name suggests; with good posture the legs are split wide apart and the main focus of the patient is to breathe in an out at an eventual and gradual pace. All of these help them control their breathing rate and get a relaxing relieve from the stress of asthma.
