In the light of deteriorating law and order conditions in Karachi, the Fashion Pakistan Council announces the postponement of Fashion Pakistan Week 5, originally scheduled to commence from 20th to 22nd of March, now scheduled to take place later in the year.
This decision was taken on 06th March 2013 by the board of Fashion Pakistan and has been made on both security and humanitarian grounds, as the council board, as urged by several participating designers decided that it best to delay the event given the recent Abbas town tragedies, the continuing violence and the city lock downs which have prevented designers from working.
“We have decided to postpone the event, with a heavy heart. We feel that given the current instability in Karachi, we cannot practicality and securely stage a week of fashion as planned and also, as part of the same society we do feel we cannot hold a such an event while others in the city suffer. We hope to be able to stage FPW 5 later in year, for which dates will be announced later” said Shamaeel Ansari, Chairperson Fashion Pakistan
Fashion Pakistan will be announcing revised dates for the event based on the law and order situation in the city accordingly.
